"BULGARIAN REVIVAL PERIOD STOCK”

The main scientific stock of the section “History of the Bulgarian lands in XV-XIX centuries” comprises 1600 exhibits.

The foundations of this section were laid in the mid XIX century by Georgi Angelov Drumoharski, Efrem Karanov and other renowned figures. The founders and the experts of the museum have spent years on end on collecting items and as a result nowadays the museum stock comprises precious collections of old-printed books, revival period prints, weapons, priceless manuscripts by Kyustendil revival figures.

The rich stock is displayed in a permanent exhibition at the house-museum ‘Ilyo Voivoda’ and the items also participate in over 50 temporary exhibitions in Kyustendil and in other towns in Bulgaria.
